Every two years (alternating with North London Scout District camps) we hold a group camp for all our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
This year we headed to Longridge on the banks of the Thames at Marlow where we were joined by friends old and new from 1st Shinfield Scout Group (where one of our former leaders Tom is now based) and our near neighbours at 1st Islington (Acorns) Scout Group.
At Longridge, Our Cubs and Scouts took part in rafting, kayaking, dragon boating, crate-stacking, laser tag, water orbs and climbing.
There was also time for the simple pleasure of toasting marshmallows on the campfire.
On Sunday afternoon the Scouts ventured out on a hike to Bourne End, enjoying some of the best scenery the Thames Valley has to offer.
Meanwhile our Beaver Scouts spent Saturday at Legoland Windsor (with a bonus viewing of the Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle whilst en route) before trying canoeing at Taplow Lake.
For the first time we were able to take advantage of the new connections offered by the Elizabeth line to take us from Farringdon to Maidenhead in less than an hour by direct train.
