At the start of the Easter holidays 8th Holborn hosted the North London Scout District paddle sports camp at Longridge on the Thames near Marlow. Scouts from 1st Islington, 3rd Squirrels Heath, Christ Church, 8th Muswell Hill, 15th Wood Green, 201st Islington and 224 North London took part in the camp, as well as members…

Our Scout Troop (ages 10-14) started the year in the usual way by taking part in Wintercamp at Gilwell Park in early January. Activities included stand-up paddle boarding at the whitewater centre in the Lee Valley Park.

Once again we were privileged to join the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for their Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying ceremony at their war memorial on Holborn.

Eleven of our Scouts took part in the Chiltern 20 Challenge in mid-October. This annual 20km navigation competition has been running for 35 years, and so Anna, Sadie and Alice got a special award for being the 35th team to reach the finish point.
