The Scout Troop had a successful ‘long weekend’ camp at Longridge by the Thames at Marlow this autumn half term. We completed level 3 of the Emergency Aid badge, cooked on open fires in the pouring rain, went canoeing on the Thames and tried climbing, crate stacking and jacob’s ladder.

The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts went to Tolmers Campsite in Hertfordshire at the Spring Bank Holiday weekend for the first ever North London Scout District Camp. The theme was ‘Movies’ and Jurassic Park was our allocated film. We had a lot of fun. Thank you to all who made it a good weekend.

A small but intrepid group of Scouts started 2015 with an action-packed weekend at Wintercamp at Gilwell Park. Activities included whitewater rafting at the Olympic kayaking venue in the Lea Valley.

On Remembrance Sunday we once again joined the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for their annual remembrance ceremony in Holborn. Our Scouts spent two days collecting for the Poppy Appeal this year – first at Leicester Square Underground Station then at the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Well done to our Scouts who took part in the Chiltern 20 Challenge, a 20km navigation competition in the Chiltern hills. Our team didn’t quite complete the route, but showed an intrepid spirit and enthusiasm in adversity that we can all be proud of.
